To cover a round cake with a diameter of 20 cm you need about 600 grams of fondant

To achieve the best possible result, the following procedure is recommended:

The fondant should be at room temperature if possible.

Knead the fondant firmly until it is smooth and elastic.

Dust the work surface with a little icing sugar and roll the fondant with a rolling pin to an even mass (2-3 mm thick). Turn the fondant a quarter of a turn at a time to avoid it sticking to the surface. Are small cracks still visible at the edges of the fondant when it is rolled out? Knead the fondant well again until the edges are smooth when you roll it out. Then the fondant is ready for use.
